Day 26: Insanity Workout Review

So today I was not able to do the insanity workout review, I worked all day trying to raise money for a non profit organization called SportsAide. It is a super cool non profit organization, SportsAide runs sport camps for children who's parents cannot afford to pay for sport camps, like soccer, baseball, and football. SportsAide also gives equipment to children who cannot afford it. I worked at a rest stop called Indian John off of the I-90 freeway. I was in a booth all day passing out cookies, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

The terrible thing about it was that I did not bring anything to eat, and I was the only one there. So I could not leave to go get food, so I ended up munching on cookies all day. Plus when the other person came to take over they brought some delicious pizza. I was already starving, so I pounded like 5 slices. It was not a good day for my Insanity workout or my nutrition plan.

Saturday was not any better for me, I missed another workout, because I was so tired from working the day before, plus I still did not really eat to healthy. Overall this was the worst weekend I have had with my Insanity workout review.

I have noticed that when I am working out, I tend to eat better. But when I miss a day, I tend to eat worse. When I constantly workout, it gives me a mind frame that wants to eat healthy too.

Sunday I am going to take my rest day, and I will jump back into things on Monday. It is the recovery week so we will see how it goes. How bad can it be?

Day 25: Insanity Workout Review - Recover

I was so glad to wake up this morning, knowing that it was going to be a recovery day. I felt like I got a good night sleep, my body felt rested and I felt ready to do my insanity workout!! So I put on my workout apparel and got right into the workout. There is not a lot I am going to talk about today, other than I still find myself struggling to hold some of the squat and lunge positions. I absolutley hate holding positions, it hurts and burns so much. If people could see me grunting and yelling at Shaun T, they would probably think I am crazy.

Tomorrow I will be doing the Pure Cardio and Abs Insanity workout, I will also be doing some ab routines tonight before I go to bed, on my exercise ball. I really enjoy doing ab routines on the exercise ball, I can really feel my core getting a workout, plus it helps my back and my tailbone.

Nutrition: Yesterday I did really well with my diet. I had oatmeal for breakfast, with blueberries. Then I had a turkey sandwich, followed later on by a lean hamburger. I then chewed on some sunflower seeds, and had grapes to crave my sweet tooth.

I will continue my Insanity workout review tomorrow!!

Day 24: Insanity Workout Review - The Circuit

So I have decided that I am going to do more workouts later on in the day, but only once to twice a week. I have been contemplating this option for awhile, and I feel like my body can finally handle it. The Insanity workout is going great! But I also have a gym membership that I want to continue to use. Besides, I have other friends who want to workout, so to please them I am going to add a couple weight lifting and long distance running workouts to compliment my Insanity Workout Interval Training.

So I am 24 days into the Insanity workout, I will have an update pretty soon on this differences in my body. So far I have really enjoyed doing the insanity workout, even on the days when I did want to workout, I have enjoyed the feeling of finishing a workout and how my body feels afterward.

Today, I did the Plyometric Cardio Circuit, which I just call "THE CIRCUIT", because it is "THE" workout, at least for me it is. This workout continues to challenge me like no other Insanity workout. I do feel like I am getting better, but some days I just feel better than others, I cannot really explain it, maybe it has to do with the food I am eating, or maybe I am still recovering from playing football. It is a great workout though and it will test you and get you in shape.

Nutrition: I kind of had a bad day yesterday in the food section, not that I over did it in anyway, but I just didn't get to at much. Since I am out of non-fat milk, I had a slice of whole wheat bread with some all natural peanut butter spread on it. Then I had a Green Berry Shakeology, which I actually liked better than the Chocolate Shakeology. Then after that I had nothing! I was super busy and not around places where I could eat healthy food. It was not until 10:00 pm when I finally had a sandwich. Then I kind of gave in with some tortilla chips.

Weight Loss: I am not sure if I have lost anymore weight since I lost the 6 pounds, but I my body feels way better. I feel as though I have gained muscle and that my clothes are starting to fit differently. I wish I would have check my body fat percentage before I began the Insanity workout.

Get Insanity!

Day 23: Insanity Workout Review - Power Workout

So I am trucking along and busting through the Insanity workout. I am on the 23rd day and only a week away from being half way through the Shaun T Insanity workout. I know this is not the greatest plan to have after I finish the workout, but I am going to reward myself with a giant plate of nachos. And not just any nachos, but some of the best nachos in the world! There are chips(obviously), cheese(another obvious item for nachos), jalapenos, tomatoes, black beans, and cilantro. Plus some sour cream and salsa. The taste is out of this world...cilantro is the key ingredient.

Enough about the Nachos, I am starting to get a craving. Let's talk about the workout. I am still feeling the effects from playing football last Saturday, but fortunately I am no longer feeling tight in my groin area, which I don't think I mentioned in my last post. But my groin is feeling better, and my upper body is feeling better too. But my calves and my thighs are still burning from playing football...especially my calves. Once again my legs felt like lead, it was difficult to get them moving and lift them up. The nice thing about it is...is that it forces me to use my abs to lift my legs. The moving push ups are a difficult exercise in this Insanity workout. I usually have no problem doing push ups, but when you are huffing and puffing it makes it extremely difficult to do push ups, especially moving push ups. This Power cardio workout is like the highlight reel for the Insanity workout. A lot of the workouts they show in the promo videos, are actually from this workout. It is pull of powerful jumping moves and push ups moves.

Nutrition: I did pretty darn good with my nutrition plan yesterday. I did have some gummy bears, and some hot wings. But for the most part I stuck to the diet and ate some pretty good food. I had another garlic burger, which was delicious.

Day 21, 22: Insanity Workout Review

So I think I had another case of the Mondays today, plus my body was so sore from playing football on Saturday. I went ahead and did my Insanity workout today, and I really had to reach deep to get through the Pure Cardio and cardio abs workout. After I was done with the workout my body did feel good. I am noticing a change in my body, I am not necessarily losing to much weight, but my clothes are starting to fit me differently. I feel like I have more muscle and that is why I really haven't seen a huge weight drop in the last week.

As I stated before, the workout was difficult to get through today, but I am now over a third of the way through my Insanity workout review, which is already a huge accomplishment. Since I was so sore from playing football the other day, I had a hard time getting into the workout, there were ties when my legs felt like lead pipes. My legs were so heavy...When I had to do mountain climbers, I had a hard time lifting my legs up in the workout. But I got through the Pure cardio workout and the Cardio abs workout.

Nutrition: So I really need to get back on track with the Insanity Nutrition Plan, because of the camp food this weekend. So I am going to be extra strict with myself the next couple weeks, so I can maximize my results. This is the last week before I go into the recovery week, then comes the next month, which is the MAX month. But that is not for another two weeks, so I am not going worry about it either.

Day 20: Isanity workout review - Missed a day

So on Saturday I was out of town camping with my churches Men's Retreat, I had a really great time, but unfortunantely I missed an Insanity workout. I missed the Plyometric cardio circuit, also known as the Cardio Circuit if anyone who is doing the workout gets confused. I was going to make up the Insanity workout on Sunday, but I played about 2 hours of football on Sunday with all the guys, so my body was pretty sore.

Because I played football on Saturday, I feel okay about missing my Insanity workout, I still got a great workout running up and down the field. I was aslo very impressed with how I felt playing football. I felt great the whole time we were playing, I felt like I was in the best shape of my life, my feet were quick and I was out running people and out jumping people. There was only one time I actually started breathing hard, but I was moving the whole time. So I give my hat off to the Insanity workout for getting me in shape so that I could have three touchdowns and 3 interceptions, and a few pass blocks. I was all over the place!!...it was super fun.

Since I was having all my meals cooked for me, there was just no way to stick to the nutrition plan this weekend. I also had some rice crispy treats at the retreat too.

Day 19: Insanity Workout Review - Feel the power!

The funny thing about this picture...is that sometimes when I am working out...I would rather be dead...Just kidding...but not really. Although this picture is funny, it is also true. Many people do not workout like they need to, there are people who have had heart attacks and stints put in their arteries, that really should think about changing their lifestyle, but for some reason they can't.

I have struggled in the past with being lazy...being lazy, and eating whatever you want when you want, is a easy way to live...at first. Then comes the weight problems, then comes the back problems, then comes the knee problems, then comes the heart disease issues, then comes the diabetes, the list can go on and on. I have decided that I am not going to be that person, that is why I am doing the Insanity Workout. If you have seen my "before picture," I weighed around 206 pounds, but a year and a half ago I weighed 245 pounds. I have lost around 40 pounds, since I have started to lose weight, I have worked out at the gym, hiking, running, and I have also done p90x. I just wanted to give a little background.

Okay, to the Insanity workout!! Today I did Cardio Power and Resistance, and once again I found myself a little unmotivated. Sometimes I just wake up from the wrong side of the bed. This Insanity workout has definitely been a love/hate relationship, but what workouts aren't? I did however push myself through the workout, and finished my 19th day of the Insanity workout. It does feel good to finish a workout and the reward is great, my body feels better through out the day, and I am getting better sleep at night.

Nutrition: This week I have been killing it with my Insanity workout nutrition plan. Yesterday I had a bowl of healthy Kashi cereal and a banana. I then had an apple and some grapes, then I made a wonder lean hamburger. I found some lean ground meat that was 93% meat and 7% fat, i put some garlic salt on it for taste, and it was incredible!! I used the whole wheat skinny buns and mustard and a little mayo.

Tomorrow, I will take my rest day, since I am going to be out of town camping. Sunday I will try to fit my plyometric cardio circuit in.

Day 18: Insanity Workout Review - Recovery

Today I over slept a little bit, but that is okay because the scheduled Insanity workout was Cardio Recovery. Last night was a good night, I did some more ab workouts before I went to bed on my Swiss exercise ball, plus some other on the floor lower ab workouts. Then I also did some dumbbell lifting before I went to bed, I just worked out my biceps and shoulders, I also did some push ups to workout my chest a little bit. It was nothing to strenuous, just enough so I started feeling a burn...I do not want to wear myself out for the Insanity workout, so any other exercising I do besides the Insanity workout, will be in moderation. It was a good night to fit in some extra exercises, because I knew the next day I was going to have a recovery day.

So the Insanity workout today is said to be a recovery day, but I am still a little skeptical if that is true or not. There are exercises in this Insanity workout that really suck. When you have to hold a squat position and holding a lunge position is just not easy to do, then you after your done holding you pulse up and down in the squat and lunge, it is very difficult to get through, because your legs are on fire. Another difficult exercise in this Insanity workout, are the plank positions. There is a workout that works out your glutes, quads, core and shoulders, all at the same time. There are a couple more exercises in this Insanity workout that burn, but mostly all the rest have to do with balancing and stretching. Some of the balancing poses are difficult for me, but I am getting better...it's all this darn Yoga stuff...I know it is good for you, but it is weird...who thought up these crazy stretch positions?!! Anyway, I enjoyed my Insanity workout today, it was not to long, so that was nice.

Nutrition: I had another awesome day with my Insanity workout nutrition plan. After my mid-lunch shakeology drink, I had a turkey sandwich for lunch, on whole wheat bread, and an apple. I am pretty sure I just had fruit for my mid-dinner, but for dinner I had a delicious steak. Steak is so good!! I do not understand how anyone can live without eating meat, is it seriously the best thing in the world! All you vegetarians out there are really missing out!

So tomorrow I will continue my Insanity workout review, and do the Cardio Power and resistance workout. I am so happy I have not missed a day yet, but I might have a difficult time doing the workout on Saturday because I am not going to be home, or anywhere with a TV. So I have not figured out what I am going to do yet.

Day 17: Insanity Workout - Cardio and Abs

So if you read my post yesterday, you read about how I was pretty unmotivated to do the insanity workout and that I struggled through the exercises. Well, today was a different story! Today I felt great and ready to go. I still had a hard time getting out of bed, because I love sleeping and I hate waking up, but once I got ready and pushed play on the DVD player, I was 100% into it. Today's Insanity workout was the Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs DVD. I made it through all the warm ups without feeling like I needed a break, and I was able to go faster and get more reps in my warm up section. I really felt energized this morning, my lungs didn't feel as heavy and my legs were able to do better squats and lunges.

I actually think the reason why I did better was because of the Shakeology drinks. I did not take my shakeology drink on Saturday or Sunday, so I think that really hurt my body for Monday. I took the Shakeology drink yesterday and I felt great this morning, I also went and bought more fruit for myself to eat.

I want to write a little about the Cardio Abs routine, since I have already written about the Pure Cardio a few times. I mentioned that I have a tailbone problem that kind of prevents me from going all out on some of the exercises. I really do believe that this is a good ab workout program. It starts off with a great and difficult warm up, its especially difficult because i do the workout right after I am done with pure cardio, so I am already tired. Then it goes into the C sit positions, this is where I struggle. I did okay today, but I hardly feel it in my abs, I feel it in my lower back more. I am not sure if I am doing them wrong or if my lower back is supposed feel worked out. The next section is all the plank positions, this is the section that is better more me to do because it does not hurt my tailbone at all. This section is extremely difficult, it works your whole core, but I really feel it in the obliques, transverse abs and lower abs. In my opinion that is the best section of the cardio ab workout.

Nutrition: Yesterday I did awesome with my Insanity workout nurtion plan. I stuck to the diet the whole day. I had a shakeology, a turkey burger and shrimp. some steak, and lots of fruit and nuts. Eating correctly probably helped me with feeling more energized for the workout today.

Thank you for reading my Insanity workout review.

Day 16: Insanity Workout Review

Wow I can't believe I'm over half way done with the first month of the Insanity Workout. Even though that is good news, I still have 44 days left to my Insanity workout. I really struggled today to motivate myself to workout today, even through the warm ups I really had a hard time wanting to do the workout. But I forced myself to do it and by the time the workouts came around I was ready to go for it. Today was the Cardio Circuit, which for me is probably the hardest workout, it is the one I struggle with the most. The part I struggle with the most is doing the level one drills, ski jumps, and in and outs, all of these workouts are done in a plank position (push-up position) and are back to back to back. Even though I struggled I still go through the workout and worked hard, I tried getting my knees higher in the workouts and tried getting deeper in my squats.

I went to go weigh myself today, and I am still at 200 pounds, so the weight loss count is still at 6 lbs. I blame it mostly because of my, eating because recently I have struggled giving into temptations like a Cheeseburger and fries at the Mariners game, some popcorn with butter last night. I need to get back on track. It's hard to stick with the diet because all of the working out is making me more hungry, so when I get hungry...I get REALLY hungry.

Insanity Workout Nutrition Plan - Today I have had a bowl of cereal with flax seed and non-fat milk, then I had a slice of whole wheat bread with ll natural peanut butter. I am right now thawing some elk hamburger, so I can make some whole wheat burritos tonight. I am also going to have a turkey burger and some shrimp for lunch. Hopefully by the end of the week I can have some more weight loss results, if I don't...I am going to have a hard time staying motivated.

Day 15: Insanity Workout Review - Fit Test

It has been two weeks since starting the Shaun T insanity workout, ao today I got to do the fit test all over again. Remember...this was the fit test that I threw up on...yeah, I didn't forget. I am kind of bummed because I lost the paper that I marked down all my Fit Test results from the first time. So I guess I will just record my progress from my second fit test and on. Technically I got through all the workouts without throwing up, so that was a plus, and I was able to do all the workouts, so that was another plus.

Here are my results today:

Switch Kicks: 110
Power Jacks: 50
Power Knees: 70
Power Jumps: 30
Globe Jumps: 9 (there are four jumps for each rotation so that = 36 jumps)
Sucicde Jumps: 16
Push-up Jacks: 17
Low Plank Oblique: 40

So I felt like I did pretty good today, hopefully I can improve a lot more by the end of my 60 day Insanity Workout.

Day 14: Insanity workout review - Resting

Yeah I am resting

Day 13: Insanity Workout Review - Ab workout

It's Saturday afternoon, and I have already done my Shaun T Insanity workout, I was super surprised and excited when I woke up this morning because I sleep for nine and a half hours, which is absolutley in credible for me. I usually get around seven and a half hours asleep and I hardly ever sleep in in, but it felt great. However, I was nervous about the workout today, because not only was I supposed to do the Pure Cardio (the workout with no breaks), I was also supposed to day a 20 minute ab workout afterwards. If doing pure cardio isn't already crazy enough...lets detroy your abs in the process too!

Anyway, I got through the first Insanity workout (pure cardio), again, trying to push myself more and more. I do admit I had a hard time this morning getting through this workout, but I got through it and I worked hard. So after about a 40 minute video of working out, I then prepared myslef mentally for the ab workout routine. The Insanity workout guide said that the workout session was 20 minutes long, but it is really only about 16 minutes and 30 seconds long, so that was nice to to find out. The reason I get nervous with ab routines, is because...story time...when I was younger I played on my city's football team, and my first game my ass got knocked back like five yards (little exaggeration). As I was flying through the air, I suddenly realized that I was about to be in a lot of pain. I landed right on my tailbone and I bruised it badly, I was out for five weeks after that. But the problem is...it still bothers me today, anytime I do ab routines where I have to sit on my butt or lean back a little bit, it is hurts a lot. So I was hoping there wasn't any sit down ab workouts in this routine...but there was. I had a hard time doing that part of the workout, but once I got into the plak positions, it felt a lot better, it really is a great workout.

Insanity Workout Nutrition: I did not do the greastest on my Insanity diet last night, I went to PF Changs for one of my best friends birthday parties. I ordered what I thought was fried brown rice with shrimp, but later found out that it was white rice with shrimp. So that was a bummer. Other than that I have been doing pretty good.

Get Insanity!

Day 12: Insanity Workout Review

So I had to start a little later than normal on my Insanity workout today, but I started and finished the workout. Today's Insanity workout was the Power cardio and resistance disc. I really tried pushing myself harder in this workout today, because I want to see great results...I HAVE to see great results. So today I tried getting higher in my jumps and deeper in my squats, plus I tried to do more push ups...I was pretty beat by the end.

By body feels great, my family and friends can already see a difference in my weight, so that helps to know that people can recognize the weight loss. I do not know if I have lost anymore weight since I last checked, I was at 6 pounds lighter. If I just keep working out and keep sticking to my diet, things are going to be just fine. My body has felt great over the past week, and even though I was super tired after the workout this morning, right now...I fell like I can go biking, hiking, or running. The soreness is gone, and I have been getting good sleep. I do have a hug knot by my right shoulder blade that has been bothering me, especially after push ups or stretching, I might need to go get that massaged out, it has been causing me a lot of pain. I think I need a new mattress.

Insanity Workout Nutrition: I have been doing pretty darn good with my nutrition, my only downfall yesterday was some chicken with the skin...whoops! I can have chicken, but it needs to be without the skin...but I love the skin...it's where all the flava is! Today I had a bowl of cereal with non-fat milk, then for my mid-lunch I had all natural peanut putter on whole wheat bread with sliced bananas on top, it was AMAZING!! Tonight I am going to PF Changs for a friends birthday, so I am going to try to stick to the diet, I will probably have some lettuce wraps. Alright see you tomorrow. Get insanity!

Day 11: Insanity Workout Review - Only 49 days left!

Wow I can't believe that I have already been doing the Insanity workout review for 11 days, it seems to be going bye pretty fast and It feels good to get the "day" count into the double digits. But I still have a long way to go, I was recently talking to some people who have done the Insanity workout, and they told me to enjoy the first 30 days because the last 30 days are way harder. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! They might as well have told me to end my life now, because you are going to die anyway! I seriously can't imagine how this workout is going to get harder...I mean I assumed it would get more difficult, but the way they were talking about it, seemed to give me no hope. The only thing I can do is to make sure I get everything out of the first 30 days, so I can get in the best shape before the last 30 days of MY LIFE!! That is the last time I will talk with people who have done the Insanity workout ever again...Thanks!

Today was the easiest workout, it was the recovery circuit, so I go to take it nice and slow....umm yeah...nice and slow with someone lighting a fire in my thighs!! Even though this workout feels great afterwards, it is still a difficult workout to get through without giving your legs a break. There are a lot of slow squats and lunges, there times when you have to deeply hold your squats or lunges, then there are times when you have to pulsate deep in the squat and lunge position. Your legs are "en fuego'" that is spanish for "on fire". I learned that on the Dora the Explorer. Okay, back to the Shaun T Insanity workout. This workout session is kind of funny to watch sometimes, because you can tell Shaun T is just dying to bust into a dance move, he wants to relive his Hip Hop Abs and Rockin Body days, but he keeps it under control. There are some great stretches in this workout, mainly taken from Yoga, there are even some balance poses.

I ate pretty well yesterday, however I did not get to eat my steak. I did have a couple of turkey sandwiches and some fruit, inculding an apple and some strawberries. I even had a shakeology shake with some mixed berries, it was delicious. Today I had a bowl of kashi cereal, and have yet to have anything else yet.

See you tomorrow! (if anybody is even reading this)

Day 10: Insanity Workout Review - Cardio Circuit

I woke up today not remembering what insanity workout I was supposed to do, as I walked down my stairs and picked up the Insanity Calendar I was a little disappointed, because it was the Plyometrics Cardio Circuit again. Don't get me wrong, this is a great workout, but it is tough! Near the end of this workout there is a part where you seem like you're in a push up position forever. You do the level 1 exercise, ski jumps, then in and outs, all in a push up position. Your arms just want to die...at least mine did. This is the workout I did last Saturday, where I think I sweated out every bit of moisture I had in my body. Today I did not sweat as much, probably because I was back downstairs in my living room where its cooler, instead of my bedroom upstairs.

It was a great workout today...for the most part. I did a pretty good job keeping up with the workouts, but I think it might be awhile until I can go through the whole workout without a break. I mean...even Shaun T takes breaks to go check out his workout crew. Sometimes I feel sorry for Shaun T, because he has to talk while he is doing these workouts, sometimes you can tell he is having a hard time trying to breath and talk at the same time. Even though this workout is pretty tough (I actually think it is one of the hardest workouts), I still go through it, even if I was on my knees huffing and puffing when it was all done. Sometimes I am so tired I just want to lay on the ground after the work and do nothing, but I have to do the stretches. It's weird...I sweat a lot during the workouts, but at the end when I am stretching, it seems like my pores open up to a flood of sweat...It drips down my face all the time, so i am constantly using a towel. Oh well, that probably just means that I worked hard.

To compliment my Insanity workout, I ate steak last night for dinner and then had a slice of bread and some all natural peanut butter. This morning I had a bowl of whole grain cereal for breakfast, then I had a turkey sandwich, with a little mayo, mustard, avocado, and some oregano for seasoning. It was grrrrreat! For my lunch I had a shakeology shake, and I have yet to figure out what I am going to have for mid-dinner and dinner. I need to eat my last steak before it goes bad, so I will definitely have that. I also went over to my parents house again and weighed myself, I have lost two more pounds!! So that makes it 6 pounds all together! Woot woo!

Get Insanity!

Day 9: Insanity Workout Review - Pure Cardio Workout

Today was a great day to workout! I do not know exactly why, but it was. It was time for the pure cardio workout again, you know...the one that has no breaks...it definitely one of the hardest Insanity Workouts. I am starting to feel more and more comfortable with theses workouts, but I am still being challenged, body and mind. Even though I have been able to do more exercises in the Insanity Workout, I still have to force myself mentally to suck it up and do the exercises, especially if it has anything to do with push ups. The hardest part for me, is when I am breathing hard and tired, and then Shaun T drops to the floor to do a series of push ups, I have a hard time getting to that floor. It is something I need to get better at.

The workout went really well today, even though there were no breaks I felt like I was able to keep up more than I did the first time. Although this is one of the hardest workouts to do, it is still one of the funnest workouts to watch, because Shaun T gets in his people's faces and sometimes tells some people to take a break or sit down. He is kind of like a drill sergeant in this workout. Today the workout I had the most problem with was the level 2 workout, it's where you squat down, throw your legs back into a push up position, then do 4 push ups, when you are still in a push position, you run for a 4 count, and then stand back up and jump, and then do it all over again for a full minute. It is super exhausting and it comes in the later part of the workout, so your about to DIE anyway. But right now my body feels great, I feel like I can run a couple miles right now and be good. I also started to do some abdominal workouts before I go to bed. Even though I am working out my core with the Insanity Workout, I still want to do some abdominal exercises to see if I can get some great flat abs. Ohhhh and by the way, I went to my parents house to check my weight, and I have lost 4 pounds so far doing the Insanity workout and nutrition plan. So that was SUPER EXCITING!! I was really pumped to see that. I have more energy during the day, and when I want to fall asleep at night I can fall asleep quickly, it has been very nice.

For my mid-lunch yesterday I had a Turkey BLT, which was super good, then for lunch I had a veggie burger. I only had four meals yesterday, but for my mid-dinner/dinner meal I had a Top sirloin prime beef steak. I LOVE STEAK!! I am super happy that steak is on this diet plan. After I ate the steak, which was around 6:30 pm, I was not hungry for the rest of the night. Usually I have to eat something later, but last night I was completely satisfied. Today I again started off with a Shakeology Shake, which is 2 scoops of shakeology, 1 3/4 cups of water, and about the 1 1/2 cups of ice. I love starting my day off with that. I also had a roast beef sandwich today for my mid-lunch.

See you tomorrow!!

Here is some more food that I have been eating

Day 8: Insanity Workout Review - Cardio and Resistance

Last night seemed to fly by, I still got around seven hours of sleep but the morning felt like it came so fast. Although the rest day was nice, sometimes it's hard to get motivated again after you have a break, because the "rest day" is so nice you just want more of them. But I did my Insanity workout this morning and it went really well. I felt like this was the best I did so far in any Insanity workout. The Power Cardio and Resistance workout is a pretty intense workout...I mean, they all are...there is no really easy workout, but they are all tough in their own way. What do you expect though with a fitness program called Shaun T Insanity!

So in today's Insanity workout, I really wanted to challenge myself to stay in the workouts as much as possible, take less breaks and more reps. I felt like I did better with that this time around on this power cardio and resistance workout. There were times when I want to take breaks but I decided to push through, even if I did take a break it was only for a few seconds. There are a lot of power moves in this workout, a lot of squats and moves where you need to focus on your core. There are also some wonderful push ups in this workout, so far this workout has the most upper body workouts. After all the circuits are done, there is one last exercise called 8 squats and 8 push ups (something like that). This is where you really have to push through, you are so tired from all the circuits, but this exercise really is important, because this is a great exercise. You want to push your body to failure, where it just cannot do anymore.

Today for my breakfast I had a Shakeology smoothie, I did two scoops of shakeology and blended it with water and ice. I actually really like starting my day off like this, because I make a couple cup fulls of this smoothie. It is pretty much all water, but it fills me up so much. For mid lunch today I will probably have a pita bread sandwich. I do not know what else I am going to have after that, but I what I will not have and that is a roast beef tortilla, those things give me so much gas it is ridiculous!!

Day 7: Insanity Workout Review - Rest Day

So today is a rest day, YESSSS! I have officially made it through my first week of the Insanity Workout! Today, I am going to take the time to relax. My body still feels great, and I woke up today without any soreness. I haven't been able to check but I feel slimmer, it feels like I have lost some weight. Hopefully all the working out and eating healthy will pay off, because if it doesn't I am going to be pissed!

I do not really have much to write on today, except that it was a really good week. The workouts were tough and I have been challenged mentally more than I have in a long time, since P90x. I did P90x last year, and comparing the two so far...well you really can't. They are two very completely different workouts. Yes, I am exhausted with the Insanity workout and doing all cardio has been extremely difficult for be, but when I did p90x I had a hard time doing simple tasks, like driving, because y muscles were so tired. I would say that the Insanity workout and the P90x are equally the best workouts for what you want them to do.

Let's talk about my nutrition, on Saturday I started off great, had healthy meals all day, but I did have a date night with my girlfriend and some other friends. Since it was a special night for me and my girl, I decided to have some dessert with her. but my dinner was pretty right on to the diet. I had Fillet Mignon with a Lobster Tail and a baked potato. It was INCREDIBLE!!!! Loved every bite. Today I had another steak and potato, and then I had a turkey burger with some mayo, tomato, and lettuce, it was pretty delicious.

Day 6: Insanity Workout Review - Plyo Circuit

Today is Saturday which marks the last day of the week for my Insanity Workout...yeahhhh...1 week down. I woke up today feeling great, I had no soreness and my body felt great, it seems as if I am past the stage of being sore. I was out pretty late last night, but since it was a weekend, who cares. I got to sleep in this morning and was all rested up before I did my Shaun T Insanity workout. In the past when I did P90x I really had a hard time motivating myself to workout on Saturdays, but I really did not have a problem with that today. I was driven to get it done and stay on track. I really need to get over to my parents house to see if I have had any weight loss results...I don't have a scale at my place. I hope I lost some weight, it will help me stay motivated to keep on going. I have a lot of weight to lose, especially in my mid section, that is where all the fat likes to go for me. Even after the Insanity workout, if my mid section fat is not gone, then I will have to keep on going, until I get toned.

Today's workout was the same workout I did on Tuesday, the Plyometric Cardio Circuit. This time around I tried to keep up even more with the workouts and the speed. I was doing pretty good all the way up to the last two circuit, where my body just wanted to quit, this was the most I have ever sweated so far in any of my workouts. I think I sweated more, because I had to do the workout upstairs in my room rather than in the living room which is downstairs, it is a lot hotter upstairs, so I was sweating pretty bad. I feel as though I was very successful in this workout today, even though I hard a hard time staying in the game near the end. I just need a little bit more time to get in better shape before I can keep up with these workouts. Tomorrow I have a rest day...THANK GOD!! I have been waiting for this day all freaking week! I will surely enjoy doing absolutely nothing tomorrow.

Yesterday I had another great day with my diet. For lunch I had a Pita Sandwich with roast beef, tomatoes, and lettuce, which was delicious. Then for mid dinner I had a whole tortilla with mozzarella cheese, roast beef, and tomato, which was also delicious. For dinner I had brown rice, some deer meat, and whole grain bread.
